Updates: region server 1.3, meter 1.14 and website

Dear friends,

ML region server 1.3 is available with its major new feature: custom roles! You can get an admin package for free at my shop in-world. I also sent out a meter update (ML 1.14) which enables all the features of the new region server and fixes some smaller bugs.

ML now can be completely customised to your needs -- almost all settings can be modified and adjusted. In order to make all this easier for sim admins, we are offering a system in which all settings appear in 'modules' of presets. For example, you want your sim to feature standard Gorean battle? Drop the notecard called 'REGION PRESET: Gor' into the server. You prefer a more earthly style of combat? Use the notecard 'REGION PRESET: earth'. It's that easy.

The same system applies to roles: you can now modify the roles on your sim or add new roles. Just like this. You don't want the default roles male, female, beast? You want Gor-by-the-books warriors? Drop the notecard 'CHARACTER PRESET: strict Gor' into the region server. You want to add a sleen role? Simply drop the additional notecard 'CHARACTER PRESET: Gorean animals' into the server. Oh, you want vampires, too? Add the notecard 'CHARACTER PRESET: Vampire'! And so on, and so on ........

We also want to offer a platform for sharing presets. This is why we have introduced the new MetaLife Resource Center on this website. There you can find presets, discuss them and post your own settings. In the future we will also offer weapon scripts there.

We hope that these new possibilities and the resource center stimulate your creativity! Post your settings there and comments them -- and a word to the hackers among you: we're looking especially for new soundsets! This is just what we have always promised: ML is a participatory project!
